Having grown 50 percent in the first quarter of 2012alone, and representing 70 percent of automotive and 70 percent ofsmartphone markets worldwide, the milestone represents a sharpincrease in momentum for the MirrorLink standard. The CCC made theannouncement at International CTIA WIRELESS 2012 to reflectheightened coordination between the mobile, automotive and consumerelectronics industries to make connected driving safer, moreintuitive and more enjoyable. Of the total, 20members joined in the first quarter of 2012. Complementing thisswift rise to prominence, the CCC also announced a pivotal updateto MirrorLink that will enable a much larger ecosystem ofdevelopers to create software applications for cars.
