Hero Moto Corp after its detachment with Honda has launched a mid-segment motorcycle named Ignitor. The commuter type motorcycle comes in two variants- self drum and self disc which are priced at 55,900 and 57,900 respectively. The only difference between them is the type of brake system. The product takes benefit of the wide service network of the company. The engine specifications are – 125 cc, four strokes and a single cylinder engine which delivers a maximum power of 11 bhp @ 8000 rpm. Maximum Torque is 11Nm @ 5000 rpm. There are 5 speed gear options and the clutch is multi-plate wet type. The chassis is tubular diamond type and the engine is air cooled. The carburetor is CV type. The bike has been designed for those who want fuel economy along with the stylish looks. Both the models come with self start option. The seat of the bike has been split to give it a stylish look and comfort for the pillion. The dimensions of the motorcycle are as L×W×H which is 2010 mm×710 mm×1095mm. The weight of the motorcycle is 129.0 kg and it has a ground clearance of 175 mm. The fuel tank has a capacity to be filled by 9 liters of fuel. The head lamp is multi reflector battery that is maintenance free having capacity of 3Ah and voltage of 12V. The Alloy wheels help in improving the styling of the bike with a wheel size of 80/100 and 100/90 which are covered by tubeless tyres. It is available in four colors namely, Red, Blue, White, Black. Talking about the instrument cluster of Ignitor, then we have Analogue Fuel Gauge and Analogue Tachometer. The trip meter and the speedometer are digital in nature. The Low Fuel indicator helps in monitoring the fuel quantity in the bike. There are no other indicators on the meter console. Ignitor comes packaged with some safety features which include Telescopic Hydraulic front Shock absorbers and Swing arm with adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorbers. This safety feature will help you drive smoothly on Indian roads and protect you from various road dangers. Braking system is an important safety feature that’s why Ignitor comes with 130 mm drum brake and the top model comes with the option of disc brake on the front. Ignitor’s test drive helped me rating the bike on a scale of 5 for various categories. On Appearance it can be rated 3, Comfort and Features can get a 3.5 and the highest rating for Performance and Value for money, which can be given 4. The motorcycle is fuel efficient machine but the weak point of the bike is that, it is a copy of Honda Stunner. Two Wheelers India
