Mahindra VeritoIndia’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra launched Mahindra Verito at a time when a segment leader Swift Dzire stands frozen by the lockout at Maruti’s Manesar factory. This is second model refresh in the segment in a fortnight. The Mahindra verito is fully euqipped with its hevy features. Mahindra Verito Mahindra VeritoPERFORMANCE Mahindra Verito Has two Versions one is petrol engine & the other is diesel engine. The petrol engine consists of four cylinders along with eight valves which gives it a displacement of 1390cc. Its powerful engine gives it a maximum power of 75hp at 5500rpm. After obtaining the maximum torque of 110Nm at 3000rpm, it runs at its best. About suspension, at front, Macpherson-type with wishbone link is provided & at rear H-section torsion beam with programmed deflection-coil spring is equipped. For diesel engine, its displacement is 1461cc, having maximum power & maximum torque is 4000rpm & 2000rpm respectively. Mahindra VeritoDIMENSIONS Now day’s traffic problem is continuously goes on increasing day by day. Keeping in mind this problem the Mahindra Verito is designed by the designers. The overall length of Mahindra Verito is 4577mm & overall width is 1740mm. The total height is 1540mm & the size of wheel base is 2630mm. The capacity of fuel tank is 50litres & the turning radius is 5.25m. The size of tyres is 185/70 & the tyres are tubeless. The new verito comes with more features & cosmetic style changes at the front & the rear. It is priced at Rs.5.27to5.49lakh for the two petrol variants & between Rs.6.26 & 7.4lakh for the three diesel versions-an increase ranging from Rs.7,000 to Rs.19,000 across variants. “The new car is more stylish & contemporary, feature packed & with convenient ergonomics that was a sore point in its predecessor”, said Pravin Shah, chief executive automobile division, M&M. “It has always been a sensible buy, is now even more attractive with its enhanced style quotient”. Based on the Dacia Logan & launched in India as part of M&M’s partnership with Renault, the car never lived up to its high expectations. In its first year, 25,891 units were sold, nearly half the annual target of 50,000. Since then, it has been on a slide. In 2008-09, 13,423 units were sold, & the following year less than half of that at 5,332 units Mahindra expects the new car would see sales go upto the 25,000 units mark but a true revival will perhaps only happen when a sub 4 meter version of the car that would mean lower excise duties & hence lower price, would be launched yearly next year.
