Having a baby carrier is a convenient and necessary accessory for many parents with newborns. I bought this backpack best baby carrier when my son got too big for our front carrier, as he doesn't tend to like to hang out in his stroller for very long in crowded places, and sometimes strollers are just a pain to use in the city. It works great It's very lightweight, made well, easy to use, and he seems very happy with it. I've found it's easiest to load him while the backpack is on the ground (it has a very stable 'kickstand,' then lift the backpack up to the tailgate of my SUV or a table so I can back into the shoulder straps. I'm going to use it on a trip next week to navigate the airport, and I think it will work just great and leave my hands free to wrangle all his other travel gear. The pockets seem adequate enough to substitute for a diaper bag, but you cannot access them while wearing the pack. One note on performance: this is NOT a backpacking/hiking pack. I took him on a 7-mile hike a few weeks ago and the shoulder straps really dug into my shoulders/neck, no matter how much I adjusted everything. The shoulder straps are pretty padded, but not enough for long hikes. I don't think it would be comfortable to wear all day, but for an afternoon, it's perfect. One of my another friend told me about this beautiful product. She has been using this carrier since her baby was about 3 months old. She is currently 10 months and this is a great product that has allowed her and her husband to easily take my daughter around town. She originally bought the best baby carrier for her husband, while she used the Moby carrier when her daughter was a newborn. Although her love the Moby as well, as her daughter got bigger and squirmier, the Moby was too cumbersome. This is extremely easy to take on and off and her husband loves using it. We now both use the same carrier, since the straps are easy to adjust to our different sizes. Many moms have commented on how comfortable and snug my baby looks in the carrier and I always highly recommend this product.
