As a busy single woman, I rarely am able to find much time in my day to relax at home; it seems as though I am always on the go, whether it is to a meeting for work or to meet one of my many other obligations. Since I spend so much time away from home, I recently decided to look into getting home security in my New York home so that I would not be constantly worrying about the very real possibility of it being broken into and burglarized while I am not there. As I began to research companies in my area that offered home security in New York, I began to realize that many of these systems also came with fire protection New York built in. This was something that I had never really considered, but I figured that if I could add the fire protection in New York onto my security system, why not do it? This way, I could enjoy the added peace of mind. It was not long after that before I had a a technician from World Wise Security out at my home, working to install my home security system. This process did not take very long at all, and the friendly technicians were very helpful when it came to ensuring that I knew how to properly arm and disarm the system when needed. They did not leave until I felt completely comfortable with understanding the system and how it worked. From that point on, I felt much better about leaving my home for extended periods of time, and it was nice to finally have that peace of mind, especially after I had heard about some break-in attempts around my neighborhood. Then, one night a few weeks ago, I was sleeping soundly in my home when I awoke to the sound of my alarm system. Once I woke up, I smelled smoke and I knew right away that there must be a fire. Unfortunately, I had left my cell phone at work that night, so I had no way of getting into contact with 911, since I had never thought to install a landline in the house. I began to panic, but it was not more than a couple of minutes later that I was at my neighbor’s house calling the fire department that they had already shown up to put out the fire. As it turned out, the Long Island fire alarm that World Wise Security had installed at my home just weeks prior had detected the fire and alerted the authorities just seconds after the fire began. As a result, not only was the fire put out right away, but my life was saved. I know that if it were not for my Long Island fire alarm system, things would probably not have turned out as well as they did. My entire home may have burnt down, and who knows whether I would have been able to get help in escaping the burning home or not. It still scares me to think about it to this day. Because of this experience, I have never been more thankful for my Long Island fire alarm and I am so happy that I made the decision to have it installed. I would highly recommend this to anybody, because you never know when disaster might strike and when you may need help in contacting the authorities for help.
