Dear friends, do you know what is the best way to clean granite countertops in the daily life? As we know, Granite countertops, a low-maintenance choice for kitchens, will last for years upon years with the right care and cleaning. Though these surfaces are literally hard as a rock, they require gentle cleaning methods. Though there is no one single "best" way to clean your countertops, professionals agree on basic care techniques that will keep your granite looking new. Granite countertops might vary; check with your supplier for specific cleaning instructions for your granite. General Care Clean granite countertops regularly with a pH neutral cleaner. Simply moisten a soft, non-abrasive sponge or microfiber cloth with the cleaner and wipe the surface. Make this part of your housekeeping routine. Never use an acidic cleaner, such as vinegar, ammonia, lemon or shower room cleaners. For day-to-day cleanups, plain hot water will do. When you have the time, apply specially formulated stone cleaner with a sponge or soft, lint-free cloth. Long-Term Care When your granite countertops are new, apply a coat or two of solvent-based sealer, also known as "impregnator." These sealers will help prevent spills from seeping into the pores of the granite, making for easier cleanup. Impregnators last for about two years. Check with your supplier before sealing as some types of granite are so dense that they do not seed sealers. Apply granite countertop polish to make the surface shine and add an additional layer of spill protection. Prevention Prevention is perhaps the best way to keep your granite countertops clean. Prevent scratches by taking care with your pots and pans; though granite tolerates hot cookware, dragging metal across the surface might scratch the surface. Never let liquid spills sit for too long on the surface. Acidic coffees, sodas and fruit juices can stain granite if allowed to wallow on the counter for too long. Keep unsightly rings and burns from forming by using coasters, trivets and hot pads. Prevent cloudy buildup by sticking to recommended cleaners. Avoid using dish soap as a cleaner, as it can dull the countertop's finish over time. Spot Cleaning Clean up spills as soon as they happen. In most cases, you can remedy liquid spills with a simple wet sponge. Use a single-sided razor blade to scratch off dried on spots and stains. For tough stains, make a thick paste of flour or baking soda with a little water. Cover the paste with plastic wrap and allow it to sit overnight, sopping up the stain. Scrape the paste off with a wooden utensil or one-sided razor and remove the remaining residue with hot water. Finally, let me have a conclusion.
