Carpet Cleaning at its Best: Soy Sauce Dillema Solved

Home Improvement,Fashion & Cosmetics,Health
Many people think of soy sauce as a "hate it or love it" situation. Whatever your opinion on this unique item, there is one problem with it that everyone probably needs to know – how to get rid of soy sauce stains.

As with many Soy Sauce Stains, removing them can be difficult. It is important not to lose patience and repeat the steps if necessary.

One key to removing soy sauce stains is to start working on the stain immediately. Even a quick wash will help quite a bit, though the stain may need some more attention to get rid of the dark color altogether.

Some of the newer stain-removing products that are applied before regular washing can eliminate all of the annoying soy sauce stain. If you don't have access to special stain removers you can mix some of your detergent with a small amount of water to create a foamy/pasty substance. Use this to scrub the stained area gently. Then wash the garment or towel according to instructions.

Before applying any liquid cleaners gently scrape away any solid or semi solid material with a blunt spatula or spoon taking care not to damage the fabric.

It may be possible to remove soy sauce stains from carpetwith a mixture of dish soap or mild detergent with water. Put this directly on the stained area and blot it with a soft cloth or rag. Rubbing might push some of the stain deeper into the carpet so be careful. Using a small amount of household ammonia can help remove the stain and eliminate the odor as well. You can finish the task with a new sponge dampened with water.

If the soy sauce stain persists, you may have to use a commercial spot remover applied directly onto the stain. Many of the newer products are very good at getting rid of the most stubborn stains. The next step will probably be calling in some professional carpet-cleaning help.

When trying to clean a Soy Sauce Stain out of carpets or upholstery it is important to pretest the products you will be using to make sure you don't do further damage to the carpet you are cleaning. The best way to do this is to apply a small amount of the cleaner to a white cloth and hold it to an inconspicuous area of the carpet or upholstery for 30 – 60 seconds. If there is no colour transfer onto the cloth it should be safe to use on stain.

Do not saturate the Soy Sauce Stain with cleaning compounds because some compounds will set the stain permanently into the carpet or upholstery. For the same reason don't apply heat to the stain.

When trying to get a Soy Sauce Stain out you should blot with a clean white cloth or paper towels. Blot from the outside edges towards the center of the stain. Do Not scrub or rub the stain vigorously because it is possible to damage or change the texture of the fabric permanently. Also you could make the stain go deeper into the carpet or upholstery and even if it appears to have been removed by this process it is possible it will reappear later. Removing a Soy Sauce Stain as soon as you see it is very important. The longer it is in the carpet the harder it is to remove.
