The 21st century is when everything changes and every person must make such a point that we do care with each other. Parents happened to be anxious in preparing their transgender kids in college. What might the school stands on transgender issues and all. Some students have an open mind and liberated. They come to their thinking that college life is the best time to come out. Parents should be aware what are the points to consider so that they will take some action before hand. Discrimination. Unfortunately, we are living in a "judgmental" society where you need to be an acceptable by everybody. Transgenders confronts a numerous challenges and this comes out to be first in our list. They need to deal with this hurtful sort of issue. They might experience this through sexist humor or inappropriate behavior. It is advisable for the parents to background check the campus before they let their transgender child apply for admission. Check if the school offers some Transgenders programs which the transgender will make feel that they are really welcome. Depression and Isolation. The student is prone to depression. If this time happened, It is good to have them their friends or someone that they could talk to. Someone who could be with them even when they are watching TV. It will help a lot. Prepared to answer their emotional and psychological questions. Remind them that they can beat Isolation, make them understand how things happened and why it happens. Rejection. It happens even in the least expected situation and It happens to all of us. Let the rejection be your motivation, that the best advice I could give. Try to prove them that they were wrong in rejecting you. The angst could be a good start and a learning experience such as: How to handle and embrace anger. This unpleasant event might lead you to being optimistic. Technically, you have the power to feel good about yourself. For the parents- This is the time that they need your care most. Be sensitive about what they need, talk to them that they have an equal rights and they must treat with respect just like the other students.
