Many companies hired content writers hurriedly and changed wherever they have poor or flimsy contents. Moreover, Google placed much importance on the freshness of the content. Relevant, useful, original and unique content took many sites to a high ranking in Google. 3.Social Importance: Google said, people love to share contents which are fresh, useful, interesting and unique. So Google started judging the worth of contents from the way people expressed their gratitude. It may be Like of FaceBook, +1 of Google Plus or re-tweets of Twitter. Popular articles started receiving way more weight in Google search results. 4.Keywords: Google punished websites which had too many keywords. Keywords must come in a natural way. Google advised, write as you would have written for a human reader, pretend that there is no Google. Whoever followed this advice gained much ranking. It was difficult for SEO chaps a lot. Many times Google pushed an update without any warning. Many times there was no update from Google about the purpose of the updates.
