It is pretty tough to go out to any club in Houston without seeing a pretty girl that you would like to talk to. The problem many guys run into is that they have no idea on what the best way is to approach a girl, let alone one that is probably even out of your league. I know what this is all like; I am there on a weekly basis and it can be brutal to go through. One thing I can console myself in is that I don't use some of these really cheesy come-ons that hear guys throw out there to women. For your reading pleasure, here are my top 6 lamest pickup lines that I have overheard. • "If I was a traffic light, I would turn red every time you went passed just so I could watch you longer." When I saw the reaction of the girl this was said to, it was priceless. It was almost like she could not believe this guy really said this to her. • "Are you from Tennessee? Because you are the only ten-I-see!" I spit my drink out my nose when I heard the guy utter this one. If he had been wearing a leisure suit and a toupee, that would have made it even more perfect to fit right into some bad seventies sitcom. • "Would you grab hold of my arm so I can tell my friends over there that I was touched by an angel?" I heard the girl audibly groan when he said this one to her. Her friends just turned away and burst out laughing, but I have to give the credit. He stood there and said it with a straight face and honestly waited for an answer. I give him kudos for trying, even if it was lame. • "I am new in town. Could you give me directions to your apartment?" You know, the more I think about some of these lines, the more I have to wonder who comes up with this stuff. Somebody must have tried this and it actually worked or someone else wouldn't try it again, right? • "Well, here I am. What were your other two wishes?" This one really bombed. The one girl said to him "For you to go away," and then he tried it again on someone else and I overheard her say "For you to drop dead." It might be time for him to get some new material. • "Do you have a GPS? I am completely lost in your beauty." This one might get the cheesy and corny line of the year from me. I have never seen a girl roll her eyes like that when she heard this line. I could go on for pages and pages about things I have heard at a club in Houston. Thankfully, I wised up a long time ago and stopped using the cheesy pick-up lines. These lines can't possibly work, can they?
