IKEA has ordered 7MW of Q.Cells' solar modules . The retailer will install Q.Cells' CIGS thin-film moduleson the rooftop of its main warehouse in the northern Italian townof Piacenza within the coming months. Renewables provides 51 percent of Ikea s energy, up from 47 percent inFY10, according to the company s 2011 sustainability report. BAA Airports , which operates six airports in the UK, is installing an Organic Rankine Cycle turbogenerator from Turboden at London Heathrow. Thebiomass-fuelled CCHP unit will produce 1.8 MW of electricity and 8MW of thermal heat and cooling by summer. Turboden entered the UKmarket last December with a 1 MW ORC plant at the main BSkyB campus in Hounslow, West London. BSkyB wanted to use the plant forat least 20 percent of its new studio, editing and transmission and data facility s C02 emissions; Turboden s ORC plant has since doubled this,to 40 percent. EnerNOC has won a seven-year efficiency services contract with the San Francisco PublicUtilities Commission . The energy-efficiency services company will work with buildersand construction engineers to ensure new buildings in the cityoperate efficiently and to the owners specifications. SanFrancisco's new Public Safety Building, a $168 million,300,000-square-foot LEED Gold facility set to open in 2014, is thefirst project under this agreement. The Solid Waste Authority (SWA) of Palm Beach County gave Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PGG) full notice to proceed for the engineering, design,procurement and construction of a waste-to-energy power plant in West Palm Beach, Fla. B&W and its consortium partner, KBR,won a $668 million contract for the design and construction of the95 MW energy facility in April 2011. GE s Waukesha gas engines factory has manufactured and delivered two, 1 MW biogas cogeneration sets for the Forest County Potawatomi Community s combined heat andpower project in Milwaukee s Menomonee Valley. The PotawatomiTribe expects the CHP plant to begin operation in April 2013. In other GE contract news , GE will install its zero liquid discharge (ZLD) wastewater recycling technology (pictured) at the POSCO Cold Rolling Mill Steel Plant inMaharashtra, India in the second quarter of 2013. This marks thefirst steel mill application of a complete GE ZLD system containing electrodialysis reversal , GE said.
