With so much disillusionment among cell phone customers, it was almost inevitable that someone would come along and try to change the face of the wireless landscape. Several new companies have begun operations, trying to show the world that there are other options besides the big cell companies. One of these, Solavei, is unique among the new start-up companies out there. There's no gimmick behind their service; it's the same cell service you've been using for years. There's no trick to the types of phones you're able to use, as they offer several different models of smart phone. Solavei doesn't even ask you to cut back on the amounts or types of service you use in order to get a cheaper price. They offer a totally unlimited package of data, text and voice services. So what makes Solavei different from every other major cell phone carrier? Among other things, Solavei leadership has looked at the practices of most major wireless providers and found a flaw. There's simply too much overhead, and the cost of paying those bills ends up costing customers money. Most of that overhead expense comes from maintaining store fronts, sales people and a flood of advertising. Instead, they've taken a different approach and empowered their customers to become their salespeople. Not only are they able to provide the service for almost half of what big cell companies are asking, but by referring new customers that bill can go even lower, it just depends on how many new customers are referred. Of course, not everyone wants to work for their cell phone provider. Even so, service with Solavei is only about $50 a month, after purchasing your phone and paying an initial start up fee. After that, if you want to earn back some of the money you spent getting your account started you can. If not, you can still keep your service for the same monthly price and enjoy totally unlimited data service, completely unlimited calling and unlimited text or photo messaging. Of course, there's a lot to be earned by referring friends and co-workers too. The way the referral program works, every customer is also a sales agent. For every person they refer they get a credit towards their next bill. The more people are referred each month the larger that credit becomes. Each referral is a ten dollar credit, which means that if you refer five friends in a month you won't be paying your cell phone bill. There is also talk that you might earn an incentive for each person signed up by someone you've referred, though it's too early to say for sure how that might work. What is certain is that this business model will catch fire when it becomes available to the public at large. solavei's services are still in the early stages, and deals with phone manufacturers take time, so a new customer will need to purchase their phone outright, but the service itself will be as good as it can be. They'll be leasing air time on existing cell phone towers from established wireless providers, so if you have good service in your area now you'll continue to have good service when you switch. Phone selection will be limited while the company establishes itself and manufacturers begin taking an interest, until then they are only offering two different models of smart phone, both reasonably priced for a full purchase. Time will tell if this business model will prove effective, but it is definitely exciting to have the chance to get started at the ground floor with a new company of this nature.
