The restaurant, which is modelled after a modern British gastropub, played host to a drinking and tasting party for invited guestsand members of the media. As Jarrod & Rawlins continues to evolve as a mainstay of KualaLumpur's dining scene, it has introduced a fresh and excitinglook to its latest addition. Elegant sage green walls, comfy booths and large mirrors make upthe tastefully decorated restaurant and bar. The charming and convivial environment makes it an excellent placefor lunch meetings, dinner parties and gatherings. One can alsodine al fresco style on high stools and tables placed at thesidewalk. The input for the new look comes from Jarrod & Rawlins founderDenis Rawlins, himself. During an interview, Rawlins said he had wanted an English conceptfor the new restaurant and had worked around it by takinginspiration from English pubs to provide the home-away-from-homefeel. "It aims to bring business and family people together with comfortand familiar food in a cosy environment," he said. The menu features the restaurant's all-time favouritesausages, hearty sandwiches and gourmet burgers, along withsatisfying pastas and well-liked pub classics. Due to space constraints, the popular Jarrod & Rawlinsdelicatessen is not a feature at this place. The deli is availableat its branches in Damansara Heights and Ampwalk on Jalan Ampang. "At this restaurant, we are doing away with some dishes andintroducing new ones but our favourites will stay," he said. Describing the Jalan Bangkung venture as an exciting new beginning,he said it was also heartbreaking having to close their first shopin Hartamas. "Placing ourselves here on Jalan Bangkung, we complement theexisting restaurants and we also have competitve offers for happyhours. "We are perceived to be expensive. I'm not saying we'recheap but you pay for the quality you get. People who come here,they know that they are getting good, quality food," he said.
