Grade-schoolers love making and sharing Valentine's Day creations with friends and family. Host a fun card-making party for your little ones so they can make sweet seasonal greetings to celebrate this holiday. Handmade Valentines Day cards will need basic art supplies and you can encourage the little ones to make Valentines Day decor using the same supplies to bring festive cheer to your home. Puzzle Scroll Card Puzzle scroll cards are fun and festive Valentines Day cards that your kids will love to make and give. For this simple craft, you will need: a Valentine-themed puzzle or word search page, origami paper, ribbon, red paper, hole punch and child-safe scissors. To make these Valentines Day cards, roll up one puzzle page per card. Then, roll a piece of origami paper around the puzzle page, roughly around the center. Secure the rolls with a length of ribbon and tie it. For the tag, cut out a paper heart and help your little ones punch a hole in it. Write a message on the heart and tie it to the scroll for a unique holiday card. String of Hearts A string of hearts is a great way to add seasonal style to your Valentines Day decor. This super easy craft needs just red craft paper, a pair of child-safe scissors, markers, craft glue and cookie cutters. Cut out a strip of paper that's about 18 x 3 inches. Fold this strip of paper in sections of three inches using the accordion technique. Help your children draw a heart on the top layer, either by hand or by tracing around a cookie cutter. Make sure that the sides of the heart should extend out to the folded edges just like a paper doll chain. Give the kids child-safe scissors to cut through the papers except for the side where the paper has been folded. Open the folds for a simple and cute red paper hearts chain. The children can now decorate these hearts with glitter and markers or write the names of a loved one on each heart for a personalized touch to your Valentines Day decor. Make beautiful holiday crafts with just paper, scissors, yarn and glue to celebrate a fun handmade holiday.
