How to make pasta

Food & Beverages
Once you know the steps to making pasta at-home you will find it difficult to resist making homemade pasta regularly. Fresh spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, and more forms of pasta are all available for your dishes whenever you turn into a master at making pasta!

Active ingredients to Make Pasta (1 Pound)

• 2 Cups of flour • 3 large eggs • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Making the Dough for the Pasta

Create a mound of the flour on a cutting board and make up a hole or well in the middle of it. Put the salt and eggs in the center of this well, then make use of your hands to begin mixing these components together. It shouldn't take very long for the pasta dough to start taking form.

Right after the dough starts to become one solid piece, form it into one big ball of pasta dough. If you find that dough might be too dry and flay, you may add another egg. On the contrary, if ever the mixture is sticky, you may throw some more flour in the dough to reduce the stickiness.

When you have got a nice ball of dough with all the right consistency, it is time to roll it out flat to around 1/2 inch thick. This is to ensure the dough could very well be kneaded. To knead your pasta, tone and flatten the dough, fold it in half, then tone and flatten it again. Continue repeating this process for a couple of minutes till the dough is consistent. Don't work the dough for any more than 5 minutes, otherwise your noodles can get tough.

After the pasta is kneaded, employ a knife to split the pasta into 3 equal pieces. Place a towel on top of the pasta for the time being to keep it from drying out.

Proven methods to Roll Pasta

Rolling the dough out is an easy task if you own a pasta machine, but you can also utilize a rolling pin if you do not have one. Grab one of the pieces of dough and flatten it first along with your hands, after that using the rolling pin or pasta machine.

When you're using a pasta machine, make certain that the dough isn't wider when compared to the slot you'll actually feed it into. Set the machine on its widest setting and turn the handle and feed the dough through. Whilst the dough is being fed through, be sure to use another hand to aid it as it comes through otherwise it could actually break and break apart.

Continue repeating this process, narrowing the width of the pasta machine a bit each and every time until it's as thin as the machine could go. Each time you run your pasta within the machine, it must get thinner and more extended. Longer pasta dough is less stable just as well, therefore it really is very important to be gentle to prevent it from tearing apart. The moment you are done rolling out the pasta, it has to be roughly 1/6" thick.

Slicing the Pasta

You'll find so many tools ideal for cutting pasta, so it's really up to you to consider which method you like best. Rolling cutters like pizza cutters help cut long straight lines whereas pasta cutting machines will have a number of pasta choices.

Fresh Pasta is the Best Pasta

We hope this helped you in your purpose of finding out how to make pasta. Now all you should do is consider what you are going to make. Could it be delicious spaghetti covered in a delightful Marinara sauce or maybe a savory chicken stir fry? You choose, your choices are boundless!
