If anyone has ever been interested in purchasing a tablet, now is the time to shop around. There are more choices than ever before. Most Android tablets sport 7- to 10-inch screens. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 gives an unmatched tablet experience. It's a close substitute for Apple's iPad. It is even thinner and lighter. It is suitable for people who do not require a ton of local storage, aren't bothered by using an adapter for HDMI and enjoy stereo speakers. These tablets are a little pricier, starting around $500. They come with either 16GB of internal memory or 32GB. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with essentially the same feature set as Tab 10.1 but has an 8.9-inch screen and is a little thinner and lighter, making it more convenient. The Lenovo ThinkPad is a great tablet for the business person on the go. It has several business-oriented features, included an optional digital pen accessory. It measures 10.2 inches tall by 7.2 inches wide. The ThinkPad has a 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MPrear-facing camera. It has 16GB of internal memory and starts out around $500. So far, the recently released Android 4.1, Jelly Bean is the fastest and smoothest version of Android yet. It was developed as an improvement of the sheer simplicity and beauty of the preceding Android 4.0. Jelly Bean gives newer tablets an absolutely new and refreshing Google search experience that is quite dependable and intuitive. The new user interface strives for a fast, fluid and smooth touch. The improved graphics and screen transitions make it easier than ever to move between home screens and switch from one app to another Notifications are expandable and allow you to multitask. The new working system of the widgets enables you to give your home screen a personal look. Everything else moves in a bid to create room for your most used apps and websites as they are placed on the screen. The keyboard is smarter than ever before and allows for next word predictions and superb voice typing. It even has a “Gesture Mode”, which is appropriate for the blind and has plugins that can be used for external Braille devices. The Android Beam gives you a chance to instantly share photos, videos and contacts by touching NFC-enabled devices back-to-back. By all accounts the new Android operating system, Jelly Bean, is a huge improvement to the last iteration. Tablet manufactures are racing to implement this new OS into their devices. The consumer is now faced with more choices than ever before.
