One of the largest airlines in United Kingdom is British Airways which provides its services to around 550 flight destinations all round the world. This airline is currently owned and governed by Comair limited which took over this airline in 1992 prior to this the airline was operated under the name of Aircraft Transport and Travel and made its first flight in August month of 1919 from Le Bourget to Honslow. Later during the low time in aviation industry, several airlines were merged together and formed this current airline which was the major British airline at that time. During that the airline used to operate only 18 aircraft with employee strength of 250. Since the collaboration of this airline with Qantas, the airline launches its first international flight to Australia. After acquiring few more aircrafts a new airline was born with the name of British airway limited. This new airline company was also created with the alliance of Imperial Airways and the British overseas airways corporation. Once the World War II ended, a new sister airline was created in order to handle these flights which was also known as BEA. Throughout its journey, this airline has emerged as a successful and profitable airline. The main fact behind the success of this airline was the regularly addition of new aircrafts and long international flight services. The new features and services added in the airline also played a considerable role in success of this airline. These features include spacious leg rests in economy classes, special lounges and onboard catering services with wine service. Other services including valet services check-ins through phone, services through website like flight schedule, ticket booking system etc. The airline also implemented e-ticketing system in which the passenger need not to carry physical copy of ticket as they can check in through identity proof only and through system a passenger can also change its flight 30 minutes prior to departure time.
