ENERGY THIEVES Modern Political Monstrosities. An old lady well into her eighties cries reluctantly in bursts of controlled sadness outside the offices of the electrical company of a European so called democratic state. It is one of the products of this thing called Europe. She is one of millions who cannot pay her horrendous electricity bill. She will probably die in a cold apartment , depressed and eating out of cold tins of factory pollutants which she can just afford. The governments, despite their flamboyant constitutions which propose to guarantee all sorts of ridiculous rights including upkeep of the destitute, cannot even pay their own bills having spent the future of the next generation in the form of an uncontrolled national debt made up of corruption and blind follies. Most of this money has ended up in the pockets of a few and the rest in dubious support of party friendly monopolies that take profits away to safe homes. It is very much the same as what happens with the energy companies which start creating trillionaires at the very outset of the creation of the energy – unreal, uncharismatic, characters who appear not to know quite what to invest it all in apart from private jets , liners and football teams. The rest is gleaned from the average ratepayer down the line with increasing pressure until the lights and taps have to be turned off. Governments supposedly control these rises, but effectively, like all things bureaucratic and political, ways and means to increase the bills find the last few coppers in the pockets of the unwary citizens who was hoping they would fetch a better selection of scraggy meat, for the houseful of unemployed. It is not a scene from Dante´s inferno but the plight of the Southern modern European dependent on Governments that deny them the right to be able to live on their earnings from wherever they can get them. Now, devoid of further capacity and indecent ingenuity to scrape the barrel, they concentrate on the goose which lays the egg - the safety factor middleclasses and self employed who are the real origins of social welfare. Without them, unemployment is the norm and talent and residual capital flies far away in the face of wanton, public expenditure and abrasive taxes levelled at them by blind, social guardians born of a Marxist ideology long since discredited. It takes little to understand and investigate that welfare states have always been the creations of so called capitalist forces – never communistic or allied socialism which terminate in absolute dictatorship. Going back to where they came from. If countries wished to regress to the middle ages or even so-called, third world economies, the present powers of the energy companies and their ability to create indirect taxation through their numerous extras, on their pathetic bills, cries loudly in that direction. The ancient Pharaohs found their modern seats in just these repulsive monopolies. However, despite the social damage they are causing like evictions, suicides and family disintegration, they also close businesses which rely exclusively on energy to keep their machinery and workers in place. Since the privatization of these monopolistic products which hide behind pretentious so called free market concepts, their ping pong stock market wars have made them likely targets for speculators interested solely in profit margins. Additionally, political plants find their way into the boards or as assessors on massive remunerations geared to ensure that prices (and share values) go up. These deviant quislings, smooth the way for indirect and constant increases the likes of which have only been seen in the senseless telephone market now thankfully in decline. The ugly side of Capitalism that took its toll in Thatcher days with the occupation of Centre Point in London never quite got its just retribution. Like all things which keeps the average man in place and the breadline, it wriggled free of public outrage to rear its head another time and in another place. It is now obvious that politicians, bankers and monopolies are in the firing line, but at what expense, is difficult to foresee. The average man is not up to it and the military is only just that short distance away. Whichever and however, Europe and its foolhardy taxes like the incredibly all destructive VAT, paves the way for a free for all in search of its own glossy raison d’etre baring teeth against all who dare challenge its comical assumption of overall sovereignty. Hopefully, Britain will lead the way out of this unlikely scenario and at best reduce it all to irregular meetings of Heads of State in Alliance on defined expense and use our advanced communications systems to do the good work behind the scenes. Perhaps the gawpy set of freeloaders that crowd our screens in favour or against avaricious members, will disappear to where they came from and take that licentious anti personnel VAT with them.
