SYNOPSIS: Getting trapped in illusion always leads to our downfall. But when devotion reaches its pinnacle, the LORD holds our hand and illusion does not deceive us any further. We must always fear from GOD and must fear HIM a lot. We must fear HIM not because of HIS anger but due to the fact that our misdeeds will hurt HIM and will sadden HIM. We must fear because with our misdeeds we will lose the opportunity to be associated with HIM and to be called “Children of LORD”. More than the LORD we should fear the “LORD’s illusion” [According to Hindu mythology, the only truth is the GOD, the world we see is nothing but HIS illusion]. Because GOD is merciful, HE will shower HIS mercy and dispense fear from HIS devotees. But GOD’s illusion is merciless and it never leaves anyone from its shackles. The power of illusion is so strong that in a moment it takes us away from GOD. Only who has been able to tie himself with the LORD or whose hand the LORD has held, is saved. Apart from this exclusion, all others are blown away by illusion. GOD holds our hand when our devotion reaches its peak. Till this happens, there is always a chance that illusion may mislead us. Once misleaded, we go astray in life. Sant Ajamil got indulged in adultery and illusion got an upper hand and led to the downfall of a great scholar. [Sant Ajamil was a learned scholar and once saw an act of adultery. He got himself indulged in it all his life and at his last breath he was redeemed from the sin by the utterance of LORD’s name.] Mother Kaykayee soiled herself due to her love for her son and the illusion got the better of her and due to it the LORD (in HIS incarnation as LORD RAM) had to go into exile. [Queen Kaykayee was the stepmother of LORD RAM. To pave the way for making her son Bharat, the king of Ayodhaya she send the elder brother LORD RAM into exile. Bharatji refused the kingdom and went on to disown her mother Kaykayee and ever remained a humble servant of LORD RAM.] Just like GOD’s name is assumed to be bigger than the GOD, similarly we must be scared of GOD’s illusion more than the GOD. This is because illusion tends to lead us away from the LORD. It makes us go astray from the devotional path. Therefore we must bring such vigor in our devotional pursuit, we must reach such a pinnacle in our devotional pursuit that GOD is pleased and HE mercifully recalls HIS illusion (GOD’s illusion is exclusively under control of GOD) from our life and thereafter illusion will never tie us or will be able to influence us. Only by this means we will be able to save ourself from illusion else it will always flump us. Before illusion flumps us, it is best to seek the mercy of the LORD with our devotion. The LORD had showered HIS mercy on all HIS devotees at all times. History bears testimony to the fact that devotees after receiving the shower of GOD’s mercy had never got trapped in the web of illusion and had peacefully progressed in their devotional path. The first example is that of Sudamaji, a great devotee. When the LORD gave him the divine grandeur in form of Sudamapuri in lieu of three handfuls of rice, then due to the mercy of the LORD, his greed did not get the better of him. Sudamaji told his wife Bhagwati Sushila to use the wealth in pilgrimage, charity and other noble acts for which she had a priority in life but due to poverty could not do it. But Sudamaji continued his march on the devotional path without any deviation, unaffected by the wealth. The LORD’s illusion did not shackle this great devotee. In fact by not shackling him, the illusion applauded this great devotee. [In lieu of three handfuls of rice, the LORD reciprocated by giving Sudamaji the wealth of three universes. Sudamapuri, bigger in grandeur than the LORD’s own kingdom was carved for this great devotee.] The second example is that of great devotee Narsi Mehtaji. He gave to charity all his wealth and took the devotional path. Devoid of wealth, his relatives teased and made a mockery of him and insulted him. Still the illusion of wealth could not get the better of him. He continued to march peacefully on the devotional path and did not seek wealth from the LORD again in his life. It was for this reason that the LORD alongwith GODDESS Rukamani came in to perform the ritual Maayraa. Thus the illusion bowed before this great devotee. [Narsi Mehtaji gave all his wealth to charity in order to take the devotional path. When in a marriage of his granddaughter he had no wealth for a ritual called “Maayraa” to be performed by him, the LORD became his abide and fulfilled the ritual obligation in great grandeur and showered extraordinary wealth on the occasion to make that Maayraa immortal and the biggest ever in history. Instead of water drops, the heaven showered incalculable quantity of gold, pearls and diamonds as rain.] The ideology to save ourself from being hammered by illusion is to get ourself associated with the LORD and through devotional pursuit make LORD associate with us. In our human life if we are able to hold the hand of the LORD and if the LORD holds our hand due to our devotion, at that very moment the illusion takes a back seat and sheds away from our life.
