Europe is a vast continent with lots of gems dotting it. But of the many places for Europe travel, Ireland is not given the credit it is due. The land of leprechauns is quite lovely – it is irresistible in its simple but touching beauty. Castles, manors and ruins and even pubs where you could greet a stranger as a long time friend, are the usual fare in Ireland. A wild beauty pervades Ireland which can set your soul free when it brings you into nature’s embrace. Here are some places you should make sure is part of the Ireland holiday packages you are choosing from. Giant’s Causeway The first thing to do when on Ireland holiday packages is to head for the natural geological formations. The Giant’s Causeway is a formation about 50 or 60 million years old made by volcanic activity. A cliff formation was made of cooled and hardened lava and will leave you astonished at nature. Legend holds that a giant named Finn McCool built the narrow cliff formation to visit his lady love on the Scottish island of Staffa. This formation is recognised as a UNESCO heritage site – so it deserves a visit as a part of Europe travel. Cliffs of Moher The cliffs of Moher are also a wonderful part of Ireland holiday packages that should not be missed. The views from here are unparalleled – see the Aran Islands, the popular hiking location of Twelve Bens of Connemara and the open sea from this spot. O’Brien’s Tower, situated approximately in the middle of the cliffs helps you take in the glory around you. Slieve League You should also visit Slieve League which is higher than the cliffs of Moher, but is still lesser known. Dare to walk along the One Man’s Path here, which runs along the cliffs if you want a thrill. The path isn’t really dangerous if you keep a cool head. Make your way to MacGillycuddy’s Reeks which include the Carrountoohill peak – the highest mountains to be found in Ireland. Slieve Bloom Way Not up for the strenuous journey up to the Carrountoohill peak? Head for the Slieve Bloom Way instead. This bog holds wild life like deer, foxes and even the occasional otter. Streams, waterfalls and glens come together to offer you a slice of paradise. When you have to narrow down from a list like this, choosing places to visit during Europe travel can be difficult. But no matter where else you go, just make sure that these are places are visited as part of your Ireland holiday packages – they’re worth visiting! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ninad Chaudhari works as a Web UI Designer / Developer with Cox & Kings.
