News Axis introduces M10 range of small and smart network cameras(9/12/2008) Axis Communications, the global leader in the network videomarket1, has introduced the AXIS M10 range of network cameras, aseries of small and smart cameras, ideal for securing locationssuch as small businesses, boutiques, restaurants, hotels andresidences. These affordable, intuitive and reliable cameras fromthe market leader in network video offer best-in-class imagequality and professional monitoring capabilities. All three models, AXIS M1011, AXIS M1011-W and AXIS M1031-W providesuperior video image quality at 30 frames per second in VGAresolution. The AXIS M1011-W and AXIS M1031-W add the option ofconnecting over an IEEE 802.11g wireless interface through thebuilt-in antenna, for easy and flexible installation. The AXIS M1031-W also features a passive infrared (PIR) sensor fordetecting movement, even in the dark and a white LED light forilluminating the scene automatically at an event or when requestedby the user. Other features include two-way audio support with anintegrated microphone and speaker, allowing remote listening in onan area as well as communication with individuals directly or usinguploaded or recorded audio clips. All cameras in the AXIS M10 series provide multiple, individuallyconfigurable, high-resolution video streams in H.264, Motion JPEGas well as MPEG-4 Part 2 at full frame rate. H.264 compressionenables optimisation of storage and bandwidth efficiency bysignificantly reducing the bit rate. Using progressive scantechnology, the cameras provide VGA images of moving objectswithout motion blur.
