Forgiveness has always been taught in religious circles as the key to peace in life and this has actually proved to be the case. Stress is in so many ways lack of peace. To be more specific, lack of peace of mind is stressful and there are very many things that can take away our peace and leave us with no joy. Those things are called stressors and you can be sure to find them everywhere. They may be lack of a job or loss of a job, abuse which can either be verbal or physical, death, trauma from natural calamities, trauma from wars, low self esteem, failure can be categorized in very many parts for example, failure to conceive or failure in a business. There is also another stressor which is people. You have had the experience of having someone causing you constant stress to a point where it becomes unbearable. This people may just be casual friends, siblings, parents, bosses, colleagues and even spouses. Every day, thousand of people nurse their stress caused by this people and the most common and serious cause of stress is from a spouse. Conflicts in this relationships come from many things and one of them is a cheating spouse. This reason is enough to give any women or man enough stress to make them sick. Many wives and husbands in the world are dealing with this problem and others have decided to end it all. However, there are many people who have overcome this challenge to find themselves even stronger than they used to be. Their key to treating their stress problem is forgiveness. We can always count on forgiveness to solve our problems from the inside. It is an act of releasing rather than giving in. If you cannot forgive, you are holding on to anger that will eventually seek to destroy the person and in the process, you might also perish in your quest for revenge. Forgiveness wipes a slate clean and it brings out character in the person forgiving others. If you find it very hard to forgive, you need to consider the following. You need to know that nobody is perfect. If a person is genuinely sorry, there is no need not to forgive chances are, you will find yourself in need of forgiveness because we all make mistakes. Adapt a character of forgiveness and you can be sure that you will not suffer from stress. Not many people find themselves ready to forgive and they will stay bitter. This bitterness is caused by stress and clearly in a state of unforgivenss. There is someone who puts it very well and says that unforgiveness is like taking poison and expecting someone else to die. There are other people who have forgiven too many times in the past and they decide they cannot continue like this, the truth is, there is no other option but to forgive just like the bible teaches, forgiveness is indefinite.
