It is important that the website meet the needs of the Smartphone users. It is important to comprehend the fact that a mobile website is completely different from that of the traditional website. However, there some best practices that should be employed to develop mobile presence. Research has shown that more than half the users of these mobile devices use the device for checking their mail and surf the web. With the unprecedented growth in the mobile users, it is important that even the small businesses foray into the development of mobile website.

Before proceeding with the development of mobile website design, it is important to remember that the person viewing your website is mobile. This is like the truth that most mobile website design company tend to forget in this scheme of things. When someone is on the move, they expect a completely different experience from the ones that is applicable in the standard websites. The mobile customer would look for particular components of information, contact details, store locations and other directions. They are not searching for lengthy content details and other informational philosophies. These are best restricted to the standard website. The very first thing to remember in the development of mobile websites is the use of minimalistic design techniques. The restricted amount of screen space further limits what information that can be displayed. Simple things like “contact us” form with more than ten fields do not make sense. The idea is to eliminate all the non-essential contents and directly bring the client from the purchase to the exact details. Completing the sales cycle and inclusion of the QR code also helps in finishing the cycle faster as the mobile user would prefer.

The second important attribute in the mobile website design is planning the website layout. Since the mobile web pages take more time to load, it is of utmost importance that the pages are kept to the bare minimum. The idea is to keep the website layout streamlined and intuitive. This way the viewers would receive your website in a better way. However, since the mobile website is now more streamlined, it is important to integrate some branding elements to the equation. The idea is to reflect your brand essence. The color palette should be consistent with the enterprise. The minimalistic approach emphasizes on the smart use of white spaces. Incorporating the appropriate amount of white space helps in imparting a clean and sophisticated appearance. Lastly, for a mobile friendly web design it is important that Flash should be avoided. Apple products do not support Flash, some other phones do not support Java. However, using both these languages would put a huge drag on the total loading time.

A mobile website design company would understand that not all people are at ease in using a Smartphone keyboard. Using dropdown menus, pre-populated fields and checklists help in minimizing these typing challenges. It is important not to use any pop-up windows that would hinder surfing on the mobile and can increase the loading time. Navigation of the website is integral especially between multiple tabs, which should be seamless, and it is important to help the user navigate back to the original page.

It is important to understand that the mobile websites is a new ecosystem and that addressing its needs can be challenging. However, implementing a mobile website would bring forth opportunities that would display your brand to different users.
