What is there not to like about Barcelona? World-class attractions, unique architecture, stunning scenery and, of course, beautiful beaches. It is no surprise the city is such an important tourist destination. When you travel back from Lloret de Mar to Barcelona for your flight home, try to spend some time here before you head off. It would be a shame to miss out on such a great city by just passing through. If you want to stretch your holiday out and make it last a bit longer, there are no fewer than seven beaches stretching along the coast for nearly three miles to keep you entertained. All of these are very different, but they are all clean and come with good facilities. Here are five of the best ones to visit on a stopover. 1. Bogatell When you arrive off your transfer from Lloret de Mar to Barcelona, this is one of the most peaceful beaches in the area to head to. While there are other beaches closer to the city, this one is well worth the little extra effort. It is located near Port Olympic, and there are some great restaurants to check out there as well. There is also a peaceful promenade to walk along if you fancy a break from the sand, and you can even use the public gym facilities if you want. 2. Sant Sebastià This beach is one of the best available if you do not want to stray too far from the city centre. It is the most southerly of the city beaches, and it is also one of the most popular, meaning it tends to get quite busy during the hot summer months. If you have some time to fill in following your transfer from Lloret de Mar to Barcelona, it should definitely be on your list. As well as being near major attractions like the Barcelona Aquarium, you will also find a very attractive beach with some stunning views along the coastline. 3. Barceloneta Barceloneta is one of the most well known of all of the city beaches, and for that reason it is also one of the most popular. This means it can get busy, but that gives it a lively atmosphere and a day on the sand here can be a lot of fun. Like Sant Sebastià, it is also easy to reach from the city centre so there are a number of good attractions nearby. You will also find a good selection of water sports and beach bars to chill out in. 4. Llevant Llevant is the beach that you will have to travel the furthest to reach, but because of this it is also very peaceful. It is not the prettiest of beaches, but this is made up for in the tranquil atmosphere that allows you to truly get away from it all. Facilities are basic, but Diagonal Mar shopping centre is nearby. 5. Mar Bella This is perhaps the most beautiful of all of the beaches the region. Surrounded by gardens, it is picturesque, the sand is excellent and there are lots of water sports available, including kayaking and windsurfing. Neither too busy nor too quiet, it is a good choice if you want to wind down and relax on the soft, warm sand for an afternoon. Find Your Perfect Beach After you’ve enjoyed a beach holiday in Lloret de Mar, you may not think about spending any time in the city before you fly out – but it is well worth considering.
