I have absolutely no doubts that spring cleaning is essential. However, I don't think many people can devout the time necessary for a long session of scrubbing and dusting around the house. Besides disliking cleaning most people have other, more important things to do than spring cleaning. So, why not try a few highly effective shortcuts? It'll save you both time and money and you won't have to rearrange your busy schedule. Pick Up Small Objects With Pantyhose It's my favourite shortcut because I don't have to move heavy pieces of furniture around or get down on my hands and knees to collect small tiny plastic toys from the floor. I just borrow some old pantyhose from my girlfriend and fasten it over the extension of the vacuum cleaner using a rubber band. Then I seep it under the furniture and extract crammed Spider and Superman figures from beneath. Suction power picks tiny objects and trap them on the pantyhose, making them a breeze to clean. Store Clutter in Bins Basically we try to keep order in our home. However, from time to time things get out of control and the place gets full of clutter. Then putting everything back to its proper place is nearly impossible. Both I and my partner have busy schedules. So, we scrape Google for ideas. I read somewhere to use large baskets or bins to put clutter into piles – books, newspapers, magazines, clothes and toys and then transfer piles into the baskets. The idea being that eventually we will find time to sort everything. Only Focus on High-Traffic Areas Your floors get a lot of abuse throughout the whole year. Ever more if you have carpets which are notorious to attract and accumulate dirt, dust and soil into their pile. But if your goal isn't a deep carpet cleaning then targeting spots that are walked on the most is a smart idea. If doorways and pathways get their fair share of vacuum cleaning your whole house will look much cleaner. While traversing around with the vacuum cleaner watch out for serious staining. Clean With Homemade Cleansers Take the time to create your own cleaning solutions and you'll notice how faster stains and dirt will be removed. I made a couple of experiments comparing effectiveness of commercial cleaners to homemade ones and the results were astonishing. Substances like vinegar and baking soda cut through dirt and grease much faster than expensive, brand name cleaners. On top of that, I don't damage my and my family's health. Call in Professional Help I'm sure that there will be situations when calling in professional cleaning help will be inevitable. For instance, a surprising business trip abroad or an important meeting with business clients in the country are more important than deep cleaning your home carpet? Isn't that right?
