The man of Prosperity Prosperity has a much different view in the heavenly realms. On earth we gauge prosperity with material things. According to Joseph’s experience prosperity is; knowing that God is with you, keeping His vision alive in your heart and God’s favor, anointing, and power that work in your life. Bible says in Genesis 39:2 that the LORD was with Joseph and that he prospered. According to this story Joseph was -living a prosperous life. Joseph was stripped of his clothes, put in to a pit, sold as a slave and was auctioned in a foreign land. How do you live a prosperous life when you are stripped of your worldly wealth and possessions? Make no mistake about how the bible views prosperity in the heavenly realm. You are prosperous, no matter what circumstances you are faced with. If God has revealed His higher plan that will bring true prosperity and peace. Joseph believed that prosperity came from God. Joseph was able to serve wholeheartedly and God blessed his work. Not only Joseph but even the Egyptian Slave master recognized the presence of God. Bible says in Genesis 39: 3-5, that when Pothipar the slave master saw that the LORD was with Joseph and that the LORD gave Joseph success in all what he did, Joseph also found favor in the eyes of the slave master Pothipar and soon Joseph was promoted to be in charge of the entire household. From the time Joseph was put in charge of the household the LORD blessed the household. The blessing of the LORD extended to both the house and the field. Joseph had a power working within him from the day he saw the first dream; this was reconfirmed by the second. God revealed to Joseph his destiny. No matter what the circumstances amazing grace was working around him. The savior risen Jesus Christ is around you now. Joseph didn’t have that. Look at you from the heavenly way of prosperity. God sees you as prosperous and not according to your present circumstances. God is with you and you are highly favored. Serve with all your heart as unto the Lord and praise and thank God. God has revealed His plans to you and He will complete in good time what He started in your life. The man of Integrity Once God has revealed His plan in your life you are able to recognize His presence and favor working all around you. Joseph’s was appointed as manager of the house. Joseph maintained his integrity. When God starts working in your life you should respond with integrity. That is an honor you give to your Lord. Potiphar trusted Joseph completely! Joseph’s integrity was an honor to God. However, the master’s wife could not understand what God was doing in Joseph’s life. She began to tempt the handsome young man to lie with her and that was temptation at its highest. Joseph refused. The story in Genesis 39:9 explains that Joseph maintained his integrity with his Egyptian slave master and he was concerned about doing such a wicked thing and sin against God. Integrity and honesty before God is sometimes not welcome by people who do not understand God’s way of thinking. Potiphar’s wife was angry over Joseph’s rejection. She lied to Potiphar. Once the slave master heard the fabricated story of his wife he burned with anger, put him in prison where the king’s prisoners were normally kept. We learn two lessons from Joseph’s life. A) No matter what your present circumstances are you are a prosperous man according to how God looks at you. B) Have you asked God to reveal His plans to you? If you will He will. However do we see a sad ending to a young man’s life? Joseph refused to do a wicked thing and sin against God. Joseph wanted to maintain his integrity towards his slave master. Neither of these two rewarded Joseph in anyway. Under such circumstances is God still faithful to the plan that He once revealed to Joseph? What about the dream that Joseph once dreamed?
