The Australian land is a world separate from the other land masses of Asia, Europe, Africa and America and due to this distinguished placement, it gains the exotic status for the residents of these places. It is the natural wonder down under. Its presence in the southern hemisphere, dryness and sub tropical zone gives it a hot and dry climate. It is, otherwise, famous for its coastal marvels, which include the Great Barrier Reef which is one of the most wonderful natural establishments/formations. The subtropical rainforests are close to the reef and another attraction for the tourists. Travelling to the reef and its nearby tourist attractions (Port Douglas and the coastal areas of Queensland) is a healthy decision throughout the year because the temperature here doesn’t drastically vary and the average maximum and minimum temperatures have a difference of 15 degrees Celsius. There is connectivity to this region from every part of the world and transportation earns as lucrative deals as those between any other popular destinations in the world. The journey to the Great Barrier Reef that’s why is a very easy and comfortable affair. The reef and its nearby places are rich in the natural fauna. The corals (the reef is a coral reef) found here are mostly exclusive to this place and are the divers’ delight. Their formations have given the reef its existence. This world heritage site (declared by the United Nations) is also visible from the outer space. That makes it more attractive as a wonder of the world than the Great Wall of China. To contain the damage extended to such natural marvels, this site is limited in terms of human exposure and activity. That is why, the tourists are not allowed to fish in the Great Barrier Reef. For the stay in this zone, Port Douglas is a major hub for staying of tourists. Hotels with multiple star facilities and great hospitality are open for all tourists. The villas, resorts, spa-cum-hotels, condos, tourist apartments, camping parks, private houses, boutique resorts, accommodation in the rainforest etc are the various options to live in. Booking cheap rooms in the accommodations is also easy and can be done in combination with flight tickets to save money. The major attractions of the Great Barrier Reef can be experienced by staying in Port Douglas and arranging for travel packages. The great thing about touring this place is that there are no special seasons. Although, the days of January and December are slightly less preferred because of the rains. Nevertheless this region sees a footfall of 2 million worldwide tourists throughout the year. The beaches, forests, adventure sports, diving and trekking are the activities which lighten up the spirits in this unparalleled destination. In fact, apart from the wondrous modern sites of Australian tourism, the attraction of the Great Barrier Reef stands out and is the most effective.
