We like to uncover types of foods which are inherently healthy, above all if they are also a tasty addition for our meals. Also, we will always be on the lookout for liver-healthy foods, because as we all know a great deal of our health, and our ability to hold our weight in check depends on a well-functioning liver. The delicious avocado provides more disease prevention benefits than only what it does for our liver. It benefits our immune system, helps the cardiovascular system (as a result of its healthy cholesterol), and is actually great for eye health. Avocado contains both zeaxanthin and lutein, which are carotenoids that protect our eyes from age-linked issues. A normal-sized avocado contains about 250-300 calories, so as healthy as they are you do not want to overdo them. Many people consume them in guacamole, which can be great, but I top off every salad with avocado slices. Another suggestion is to halve them, scoop out the middle and fill them with some shrimp or crabmeat, topped off with a little cocktail sauce. There are many ideas on the web to use avocado. They may be whipped, sliced, smashed or cubed, are excellent alone or offer a perfect complement to many foods.
