After just releasing the Callaway Diablo Edge line of golf clubs, Callaway take their famous X series of golf irons and put the latest, newest, HOTTEST technology into them and bring us the Callaway X-24 irons. My buds have been playing their Callaway Edge Irons for the past few months and all I’ve heard was how great they are and how I should get me a set. The X24 comes with the bore through hosel, which make Callaway’s clubs’ feel extraordinary. According to Callaway Golf, the new irons feature technologies that make them the iron to get, especially if you are an X fan as I am. The X24s feature a new face technology that they call VFT. This feature makes the clubface extremely responsive. The feel of the ball coming off of this face is something that you have to experience for yourself. In a media release, Dr. Alan Hocknell, Callaway's senior vice president of research and development said, "We recognize there are golfers looking for distance gains throughout their entire bag, and thus employed our core technologies and faster ball speeds into the design of X-24 Hot, a longer, more accurate set than any of their predecessors." The X-24 Hot also boasts evolutionary updates to tried-and-true design elements, such as "variable face thickness" (VFT) technology and "precision notch weighting" in the rear. VFT produces 2.2 mph faster ball speed than the Callaway X-22 irons do, for longer, more consistent length on mis-hits. The large cavity notch spreads weight to the heel and toe, for ample head stability and improved accuracy. As with all of the Callaway X series irons, these clubs feature perimeter weighting that will help those that don’t hit the ball perfect every time keep the ball on the target line. The Callaway X 24 gets the ball up in the air easily with a nice, boring trajectory. I’m going to be honest with you and let you know what really turned me on to these irons.
