In the Indian culture, a wedding is deemed incomplete when it lacks the wedding dress that is a deeply embedded part of the Indian heritage. Regardless of the culture, a wedding is an important part in any person's life. The bride is almost always the center of the entire auspicious event. Formal attire is the usual choice for the typical Indian bride.

Fabrics

The typical bridal wear in India taps into the rich and wealthy fabrics of the country such as, tissue, zarie, silk, crepes, geogette, and a lot more. These fabrics are a celebration of the femininity and style. Every piece of the bridal ensemble showcases only the most elegant and top of the line craftsmanship that exudes royalty and classiness. Intricate designs in Indian bridal wear in resham, kundan, heavy kardosi work is increased by colors, and patterns that are spell binding and aesthetically enchanting.

Bridal Choices

Wedding ceremonies are known to be celebrated with much pomp and lavishness. Many people tend to spend a large sum of money on the bridal attire alone. For any bride, her wedding dress is a priority. As of late, many brides are looking into the fashion styles from the eighties and nineties since they are slowly making a comeback.

Old and New Styles

Bridal dresses Indian with gotta patti, pearls, sequins and bead works are still in fashion in this day and age. With the forthcoming styles and trends there is also a range of outfits that a bride can choose from for their wedding day. The saree is a recognized national clothing piece which is worn by females. It is however not a requirement for brides to wear the Indian saree. From one state to another, Indian bridal outfits vary. For instance in Haryana lehenga and Rajasthan, the choli is still the typical outfit worn by brides on their wedding day. The modern day wedding dress has now become the lengha. Westernization has influenced a blend of both modern styles and views along with more traditional concepts.

Components

Originally it was used to represent the traditional style of Haryanvi, Gujrati, and Rajasthan. These days people are able to appreciate these styles that are incorporated into the current trends. The traditional Indian bridal outfit involves designer lehengas for weddings, embroidered couture wedding outfits, and Pakistani wedding dresses. These designs with attractive mirror work kundan, dabka, zardosi, siver, and sarwoski. Additionally tye dye patterns, pearl, bead, and golden thread work can also be seen in a variety of fabrics. Some of the more favored fabric choices include net, tissue, organza, chiffon, and brocade in an diverse selection of colors and hues. For many Indian brides, hues like purple, navy blue, turquoise, lime, emerald green, peacock blue, pinks, camel, and aqua are just some of the more favored choices.

There are now many more choices for the Indian bride of today. Brides can now opt to wear a fully skirted lehenga or a straight lehenga instead. Furthermore brides can select the mermaid dress or the fish cut pattern for a style that is modern and stylish. The lehenga is undoubtedly the perfect bridal outfit and can be paired with jewelry and demontities dupatta that are heavily studded.
