At the University of Southampton’s Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences we give you the opportunity of studying a BSc Marine Biology degree with foundation year over four years. Providing you achieve at least 60 percent in biology, chemistry and maths during the foundation year, you will have a guaranteed place the wider marine biology degree for the following year. Furthermore, successful completion of the foundation year, which is taught in partnership with nearby Eastleigh College, could also give you the opportunity to switch to other BSc or MSci degrees in oceanography or geology. This BSc Marine Biology degree programme may suit you if you are studying for A levels in subjects different from those normally required for these degrees. It may also interest you if you are a mature applicant with skills and experience from employment, or if you come from a part of the world where the education system is different from the British A level system. Each application for this marine biology degree is considered individually. However, we prefer that you have achieved at least grade C in English, mathematics and science at GCSE level, or an equivalent qualification for overseas students.
