Letterheads are commonly used by people in offices. The history of letterhead goes back to the Greeks when the parchments and other methods of writing and encrypting were in use. At that time, Greek kings used to send message to eachother by use of a servant and to know that a message is sent by a specific person, sign or stamp at the end of paper was used. This method went on till the end of the 19th century and in 20th century electronic mailing services started. Then typewriter emerged and only stamp was left that was used in a typed document. But as the typed document did not look good with the stamp new methods of identification started. These were the use of letterhead. As we all know that letterhead of a company only lies with that company and no other company can keep this letter heads because that will be illegal. So, digital letter heads started that were made by different designers for the company. In 21st century these letter heads started to be made using the Elance or freelancing services with the help of the internet. Now every company tries to make its letter head more difficult and genuine by hiring the best designer they can get their hands on. But I will be telling in this article a secret that can help you make your company letterhead all by yourself. The secret lies in both adobe illustrator or in adobe photoshop. What you will have to do is use the setting of the image, that of the paper. For example, if the letterhead is to be put on the letter size paper then you will use the setting of 8.5 widths and 11 PX heights. In this way you will have a paper size image. Now what you will have to do is to make a the letter head using the brushes, shapes and all other methods. A good way to get motivated for the design is by using the image of letter heads available online, as inspirations. In this way you will not only be able to design good letter heads but visiting cards and brochures as well. If you can't find the inspiring designs online using that method than you can search for them through google images. The google images will automatically redirect to the website on which the images of inspirations are pasted.
