Facebook marketing has a different appeal to varied audiences because everyone uses Facebook for different reasons. Whether maintaining relationships with old friends and family or playing games, people will notice the different pages offered on Facebook. Take advantage of this from a marketing sense and let Facebook benefit your business in a unique way. Marketing through the use of Facebook tabs is an easy and efficient way to get the word out. Why not create a "Promotions" tab and highlight items you have on sale, coupons you've made available or even contests you're running. It's a great way to allow your followers to easily keep up with what's going on. Link all of your content to your Facebook page. For example, link your blog to your Facebook so that a summary of every post appears automatically on your page. It's also possible to link Twitter to Facebook so that all your tweets display there too. When you want more people to Like your page, offer them something they can't get unless they click that Like button. One easy way to do this is by running a contest which only those who Like your page can enter. You could also offer a free ebook in return for a Like. When marketing through Facebook, you've got to make your page stand out from the competition. You may do this through your choice of page color and the addition of graphics. Plain pages don't get the attention professional looking pages do. Be sure to update your Facebook page regularly. It doesn't matter how great your Facebook page is. If you're failing to update on a regular basis, you could be losing the attention of your customers. Make sure you post to the page often and answer any customer questions or feedback in a timely manner. Change the tab order on your Facebook business page. The tabs will be in vertical order on the left of the page to start with. Under your list of tabs is the "Edit" option. Use this to customize the order of the tabs outside of the Info and Wall tabs. This can help you create a better hierarchy of which tabs should be near the top or the bottom in order to have some stand out more than others. Think of a good reason why people should become a fan of you or your company. When you can answer this "why", you are prepared to deliver something to them that'll get your fans to stick around and become engaged with the brand. Make it the center of your promotion. Do not create postings that are far too long. While you may have a ton of information to share, nobody will want to wade through 1,000 words to get to the point. Try to keep all of your postings as short as possible, but make sure they are well-written. You want people to be able to grasp the main idea. Offer a reward to those that already frequent your page for telling their friends to like your page. This is a relatively cost effective way to interact with those that already are interested in your business, as well as an easy way to spread the word about what you have to offer. If you are going to share links with your customers on Facebook, make sure that they are accompanied by some type of text. This will be looked at more positively than you randomly posting link after link. Posting text will also encourage users to comment, which is a great way to start a discussion. Take advantage of the feature on Facebook that allows you to schedule your posts. It is important that you update regularly to keep up interest in your company. However, you might not have time to sit down each day and write a post. That is where scheduling comes in handy. You can take an hour or two one day to knock out a bunch of posts, and then schedule them throughout the upcoming week. Facebook is constantly changing things up, which is why it is so important for you to check out your data every now and then. Because of new algorithms, your posts may not be seen by everyone who likes your page. By keeping one eye on your data, you can figure out which posts reach the most people, and then you can tailor your content around that. Promote your Facebook posts on Twitter. Twitter is an amazing social media for link sharing. If you take the time to craft some excellent Facebook posts, then get the word out by passing it through your Twitter stream. Don't be afraid to tweet it a few times over the course of the week to help the content gain some traction. If you want to use Facebook marketing to benefit your business, that is a great decision.
