I couldn't wait to get to class, my teacher was amazing, and yoga wasn't like anything I’d ever felt before. When I left the studio, the colors outside seemed brighter. Since then I haven’t stopped practicing. I work on myself everyday, because it is integral in my life. Getting on my yoga mat is very important to me. My first mat was very generic. As a parting gift from my first studio, and first teacher, I treated myself to a popular eco-friendly ‘sticky’ mat made of rubber. I used my rubber ‘sticky’ mat for two years, as I went through teacher training, and my practice advanced. Yoga Sutras say that a pose should be adapted to the body, and have a feeling of comfort and ease. The real magic happens when we approach a pose as if we are beginners looking for stability first.
