Getting a window cleaning business up and running

Advice,Business,Consumer
Many may not believe it but a window cleaning business is a lucrative enterprise. Windows, especially commercial ones, need to be cleaned regularly to maintain the professional look we want our companies to portray. Affluent neighborhoods never run out of French and glass panels and windows to clean. Most likely the best thing about starting your very own window cleaning business is the very low start up cost you will need to bring all the needed stuff together. Training to be a professional window cleaner is totally free and you can start practicing on your own windows. Once you learn the techniques, you can do this professionally.

What are the other advantages of starting your own business of cleaning windows professionally?

1. Inexpensive start-up capital - You only need a few things: a bucket, a squeegee, a scrubber, lint-free rags and dish cloths, and your special window cleaning formula.

2. Inexpensive daily operating costs - Simply put, what do you need to maintain? Well, maybe you need to refill your cleaning solution container every once in a while.

3. No special training or educational qualifications required - You just need the willingness to learn the trade and the enthusiasm to do better at every cleaning job.

4. Work from home business - You can do this at the comfort of your home; just always make sure you pay the telephone bills promptly every month. You can also choose to do this part time or full time depending on your availability.

5. Great repeat business - Remember there is glass everywhere: homes, stores, offices, and buildings. If you do your job well then your clients will always call you up for another window cleaning job.

If you have set up your window cleaning business and it is starting to look good, you must be able to deliver more than what your clients expect to give yourself come leverage against your competitors and create some level of job security.

So here are some tips to help you run your window cleaning business smoothly:

1. Be punctual and be consistent. This shows that you value your time and, more importantly, their time. Follow your schedule. If it says you have an eight o'clock job at the Brown's home then respect that schedule and show up on time. Be consistent with the quality of job you deliver so that you retain your clients and they will surely call on you for another job.

2. Be systematic. Finish your job before going on to the next one and make sure you've done a good one. Keep your cleaning materials out of children's reach and out of everyone's way as well.

3. Do your best at every job but keep in mind that there is always room for improvement. Clean each window as if your life depended on it, not really your life but your livelihood certainly depends on the quality of your job.

4. Develop customer rapport and build good customer relations. Be polite and friendly. Smile a lot. Respect your customer's properties and don't forget to ask for permission if you need to get access for anything.

5. Be updated and keep on learning new things about window training. The internet always has new things to learn about. Check window cleaning associations and other related professional organizations for the latest and newest information.

6. Don't forget to say thank you and smile. After the day's work and after receiving the compensations for the day's job show your appreciation for the chance to be of service. It also helps to send a round of thank you cards once in a while. It's not only a way of advertising your business but also a sign that you value doing business with your clients.

So why not try a window cleaning business, it may be the trade you need to boost your investments and help you achieve job and financial security in the long run.
