Everyone Will Become A Talented Cook With A Food Processor

Food & Beverages,Cooking
Friends and family often bond together over a shared meal. If you cannot afford going to a restaurant very often, it's a great idea to just invite everyone over for a home-cooked meal. If your skills in the kitchen aren't that great or if you're pressed for time, simply use a food processor to help whip up delicious gourmet meals without having to dip into the dessert wine to calm your nerves.

Food processors differ from blenders in two main respects. First, they have different sets of blades, unlike a blender which has only one set. Second, you don't need to add liquid to get the blades turning. This means that your creations can have a better texture.

One of the functions that most people love about the machine is its ability to chop and slice things. A salsa will take you only minutes to make if you pop the ingredients in the processor. Even better is that you don't have to deal with the tears that usually come with chopping or slicing onions.

For a salsa you need to chop up the ingredients quite roughly but you can also use a different setting for finely chopped herbs. With this great kitchen appliance, you'll never have to buy pesto in a jar again. Use the machine to make your own with fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts and Parmesan cheese. Add some olive oil but remember that extra virgin olive oil can take on a bitter taste if it's been processed. If you want to experiment with different flavors of pesto, try parsley, cashews and other ingredients like feta cheese or sun-dried tomatoes.

If you're trying to cut down on overly processed, shop-bought food full of unnecessary salt and sugar, you don't have to despair about kissing the peanut butter goodbye. Simply make your own, using only some peanuts or even other types of nut. Otherwise, puree some chickpeas with a little bit of garlic, lemon juice and cumin for a delicious, fat-free hummus.

Cumin, like all other spices, is best when it's freshly ground. Use the grinding setting on your appliance to make your own ground cardamom, pepper, cloves or other spices. When you don't use them in the main meal, add them to cookie dough. You don't even have to mix or knead the dough yourself: Simply let the machine take over.

Of course you can grind whole-roasted coffee beans for the most flavorful after-dinner coffee too. Serve it with meringues that you baked with egg whites whipped in your processor. You can even use the machine to whip cream and slice fresh fruit to go with those meringues. For a healthier dessert option, you can make homemade granita too.

Before you invest in a food processor, think about what your needs are. It may be best to start with a basic model, even one that is hand-cranked instead of electric. As you discover all its possibilities, though, you may want to upgrade to something more advanced. Who knows, you may even use it to start your own small business.

Look here for a summary of the benefits you get when you own a food processor, today. You can also find more information about the best food processor at http://www.thebestfoodprocessor.net/ now.
