The media recently reported that a group of researchers from China, Taiwan and Mexico developed a new lighting system, the efficient useful of LED ensure that street lamp illuminates where only need light, without creating unnecessary light. The researchers used light utilization (OUF) to quantify the performance of the street lamps, the LED road light utilization efficiency is higher,the light performance is better. The computer simulation results show that this new type of street lighting system light utilization efficiency can reach 51% to 81%, far more than 45% of the ordinary street. In addition, compared with the traditional street lights, this new lamp brightness is higher, more energy efficient, easy to produce glare and light pollution. The researchers said that due to the design of simple structure, the use of ordinary LED bulbs can be easily modular assembly. They prototyping, is expected to be completed within next 3-6 months, the actual installation experiments would be done on the road early next year.
