Indore is probably one of the quickest growing towns and is commonly known as the commercial capital of the state. But still it's got a mix of new and old and the people are noted for their generous hospitality. Many of us visit Indore for business reasons instead of for traveler purposes. There are several personal and public firms here that attract work force from diverse destinations of India. But still the Holkar rule over this place has left many historic relics that are worth visiting. The buildings and monuments of Indore talk of the heritage of the land of the times of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, Malhar Rao Holkar and Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao. They ruled over this place for approximately 220 years and they'd serious role in the planning of the town. Indore is well connected by road, rail and air network and the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar State aeroport is among the crucial aeroports of Madhya Pradesh. Indian, Jet Airways, Jet Lite, Deccan and Kingfisher operate flights from here. There are 2 train line stations here meter gauge serving trains to Khandwa train line station and Ratlam train line station. The NH three and NH 59 pass through Indore and it's well connected by direct buses with varied parts of India. Laxmibai Nagar, Rajendra Nagar and Lokmanya Nagar are some examples of the sub stations of the town. There are several good places to see in Indore that include historic places and cultural spots. The superb palaces and gorgeous churches talk of the historic past of the place. Rajawada Palace is a mute witness to the bygone grandeur of the kings and their queens of the Holkar dynasty. This is a 7 storied building built of the Muslim, Maratha and French styles. Another grand monument is the Laal Baag Palace built by Tukoji Rao Holkar II. Bada Ganpati, Kanch Mandir, Central Museum, Bapna Statue and Chhatris are other places you've got to not miss during your Indore visit. Indore is famous for its fabric market, leather toys and baroque sarees with zari works. You can purchase these clothing at Sitlamata Bazar or MT Fabric Market. Those that are hungry after these purchases would keep an eye open for good diners. Actually Indore might be declared as the nirvana of food buffs. The breakfasts in the mornings are toothsome with kachories, pohas and samosas. The diversity of candy available in the sweet stalls here will lure anybody to buy and take them home. Choose the good hostels to remain when you're at Indore. There are numerous of them that may give you cosy stay. If you visit the place in summer then air conditioned rooms will serve you better. Indore is probably one of the safest places to go to. The majority of the hostels have cafes in them.
