Faruk Choudhury has been selected as first Muslim mayor in England and his birth place is Bangladesh. And he is the youngest mayor said the office. Faruk Choudhury, the youngest person to hold the office, told This Is Bristol, according to On Islam, “I'm absolutely jubilant to have been selected”. He is the first Bangladeshi; first Asian Choudhury will be the youngest person his age is 38. He also will represent Eastville ward which he has served for nearly six years. The council member and attended by the all of the city’s 70 councilor, He will be entitled to chair full council meetings which are held. After winning Choudhury took the office Labour party's nomination to stand as Lord Mayor. He will be installed at the council’s annual meeting in May. Councilor Naveeda Ikram was named as the lord mayor of the district of Bradford, the first Muslim woman to hold this high post, in may 2011. Lutfur Rahman was elected the mayor in East London, the first Muslim mayor in Britain in November 2010. He added, “If I am Lord Mayor, then my wife, Shilpi and I will work across many organizations, encouraging blood donor sessions, especially among multi-ethnic communities as well as becoming an organ donor”. Responding to the statement “I am proud to be a British citizen”, 83% of Muslims said they are proud of being British.
