A Kansas family comprising of six members was killed when a smallplane crashed into a Florida swamp Thursday afternoon. The family members included a father, a mother and their fourchildren. The plane crashed in a remote rural area of Florida.According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the plane was aPilatus PC-12.47 aircraft and it went down in the Tiger CreekSwamp, which is located near Lake Wales. The victims were identified as the aircraft's pilot, RonaldBramlage, 45, Rebecca Bramlage, 43, and their four children. Sofar, bodies of three children have been located, but the search forthe fourth one is still ongoing. All of the passengers wereconfirmed dead. According to the details, the plane started disintegrating while itwas still in the air and its parts started falling on the ground.After the crash, it was discovered that some of the plane's partswere strewn as far as two miles from the site of the crash. Theplane was flying at a height of 26,000 feet when it beganexperiencing problems. The plane started to break apart oversoutheast Polk County and then eventually crashed in a remote area.Due to the location of the crash, the Polk County Sheriff's Officehad to use helicopters to fly in law enforcement and medicalpersonnel. The airplane was registered in the name of Roadside Ventures LLC ofJunction City, Kan. Ronald Bramlage was the owner of the company.He had bought this plane from Casey Anthony's attorney, ToddMacoluso, who probably sold this plane at the beginning of theyear, since it had been used to fly Anthony away after the trial. Both Ronald and Rebecca Bramlage were graduates of the Kansas StateUniversity, and upon their death, university president Dr. KirkSchulz and athletics director John Currie released a statement,saying, "We are shocked and saddened by the tragic news of thedeaths of Ron and Becky Bramlage and their children today. TheBramlage family holds a special place in the history of KansasState University and K-State Athletics, and Ron and Becky have beenloyal supporters and great fans of K-State.
