Carlos Slim Helú was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1940. Carlos' father, Julián established a dry goods retailer, La Estrella del Oriente (The Star of your Orient). By 1921, he had bought true estate inside the flourishing industrial district of Mexico City. These enterprises became the source of considerable wealth.
So Carlos did not come from a poor background but at a very early age he demonstrated a distinct flair for small business. By 1966 he had already amassed a fortune estimated at US$40 million. Among 1966 and 1999 Carlos diversified across a lot of business enterprise kinds, primarily in Mexico and Latin America.
In 1999 Carlos underwent heart surgery and began turning over the day to day organization operations to his youngsters and their spouses. Bill co-founded "Micro-soft" using a former school mate, Paul Allen in November 1975. His stated goal should be to eradicate infectious disease as a major reason for death in his lifetime.
Young Warren displayed signs of entrepreneurial spirit as well as a enjoy for investing from an incredibly early age. He sold products door-to-door as a youth and he even purchased shares of stock even though in higher school.
