As we previously stated, we found no evidence to support theabduction theory. That does not mean we can say with 100 percentcertainty that foul play did not occur, but rather, only that wehave found no evidence of it, including no evidence of a mysteriousman on the beach, State Police spokesman David Procopio said ina statement. The 2-year-old Gloucester girl went missing on April 19. She hadbeen at the beach with her mother, her 4-year-old sister, and thefamily dog, when her mother, looking for a ball thrown over a wall, turned her attention away for what authorities have said might havebeen as long as two minutes. When the mother returned, the littlegirl was gone. State Police investigated and extensively searched the waters inthe area under the theory that the girl might have been swept intothe sea. Anthony Harrison, the girls father, said Wednesday on the NancyGrace show on HLN that Caleigh s sister had told a couple ofdifferent stories. She mentions a man. It s a little bitscattered, of course. She is 4 years old. But she did, after awhile, mention a man on the beach that took her sister. We re looking into it, he said. He said that the mother, Allison Hammond, and probably all ofthe family believed there is a huge chance that Caleigh wasabducted. Procopio said State Police would have no comments on statementsmade by Caleigh s sister. David Harrison Jr., Caleigh s uncle, said today the family wasnot convinced that Caleigh was in the water and decided to appearon Grace s national show to kind of start to venture out anddo things on our own. He said he will be appearing on the NancyGrace show again tonight. Rockport police returned to Long Beach to follow up on a lead related to the search for Caleigh Harrison, around 3:30 p.m.Thursday, police said. Officers did not find anything and the scenewas cleared shortly thereafter, said a dispatcher, who had nofurther information. Procopio said State Police would continue to follow leads as theydevelop and urged the public to contact Rockport police at978-546-1212 with any information that might be helpful. The State Police also said they had created a missing child posterfor Caleigh that has been added to the Massachusetts MissingPersons Clearinghouse and sent to law enforcement agenciesthroughout the country. Caleigh has also been entered into theNational Center for Missing and Exploited Children site, theFBI s National Crime Information Center, and the National Missingand Unidentified Persons System, Procopio said. The thoughts of the Massachusetts State Police and the RockportPolice Department remain with Caleigh s family, and we remaindedicated to finding answers about what happened to their dearlittle girl, he said. I m glad they re still considering the possibility that shewas abducted, David Harrison said. We re going to keepgoing forward hoping that we will find her.
