He gave orders and had the church sexton climb up the steeple and wave two lanterns in order to warn about the incoming British troops. The church has the oldest continuously running clock in the country. Boston Common and Public Garden Always has been an open space since pre-revolutionary war times. It served as a British camp. And later as a burial site for many fallen soldiers of the Battle of Bunker Hill. Located in the middle of the city, it has a pond and many trails making it ideal for various events during the year. Other interesting places to visit include: The Faneuil Hall, the famous Samuel Adams brewery, Isabella Stewart garden and Museum, the Museum of Science and there are plenty of historic streets with cobblestones and historical houses to see.
