The science of acoustics has advanced over years. It has become much more complex, thus leading to better solutions. Diffusion was added basically by adding your own poly cylindrical diffusers but they fell out of preference because of the time and labor inveigled. Several people had to hold the plywood together while another fastened kit and there was always a danger of it getting slipped. The population in the nineties demanded not only better homes but also better sound and acoustics. Moreover, no one wanted those industrial looking materials at their homes. They wanted great interiors and perfect acoustics. Today, one will come across a huge variety in acoustical panels that can be customized to meet the theme and decor of a room. There are manufactured according to order and in an endless range of colors. You can get them in a variety of wooden shades and a variety of painted finishes.
