Best Reasons to Visit Kathmandu

Travel & Tourism
Nepal's own capital of Kathmandu welcomes travelers from all areas of the world to its exotic expanse of treasures. A trip to this interesting town will showcase some of the most beautiful locales of the Earth, classic edifices, intricately carved architectural wonders and quaint yards. The town incorporates 2 other towns in its huge fold, specifically, Patan and Bhaktapur which are situated together with Kathmandu amid the lush Kathmandu Valley district. Kathmandu is stuffed with over 130 grand churches, monuments and palaces which are true example of artfulness in its best trousseaus. Made variously with stone, rose bricks ivory, metal and housing wonderful statuettes of gods and goddesses, these churches and pagodas are something to die for. Continue reading to take a cryptic excursion through the stimulating town of Kathmandu. A heritage area saved and respected as the cultural, non secular, social as well as the urban pinnacle of the country, the Kathmandu Durbar Square constituted the key seat of Nepal's stalwart kings. In reality all royal occasions like the coronations and marriages of the royalty used to be extolled at this site. Also famous as the Hanuman Dhoka for the non secular associations, almost all of the respected edifices standing astray this site shelter the enormous, grandiose statues of the Lord Hanuman. The walls of the Hanuman Dhoka palace bear countless inscriptions that had been assembled back in the 17th century in fifteen sundry languages. As the folklore goes, if you're successful in decoding the meaning of the contents in the inscriptions, showers of milk will flow down the walls, signifying a great event. The palace homes a considerable number of churches and towers, each glorifying in its characteristic aura. A tour through the palace exposes the enticing culture, customs, rituals and faith of Nepal's Royal household, not to speak of the perfect art that graces the walls and ceilings of this wonderful mansion. Found at a hand's throw distance from the Hanuman Dhoka palace, the church devoted to the only living Goddess of the planet, Kumari, was raised by the Nepal king Jaya Prakash Malla. Kumari or the Vestal Virgin defines the Hindu Goddess Taleju in Nepal and is selected from any of the Newari Shakya families. There are specific parameters to the process of selection like being of Buddhist origin, shouldn't possess any mark of injuries on the body and the likes. On the achievement of adolescence, the present Kumari is succeeded by another Kumari. The Kasthamandap, is a church made from a single tree's wood and is found extremely near to the Kumari church. It is from this church the town Kathmandu had got its name. The present Secretariat of His Majesty's State of Nepal, Singha Durbar or is an ostentatious, imposing edifice that portrays a fine exemplary of neo-classical art. Formerly the palace used to act as non-public home property of the Rana Prime Ministers. The monument stands as a giant between the 2 respected structures of the Bhadrakali Church and the Bhimsen Stambha. A pretty piece of creativity, the arch of the commemorative has got the famous king of Nepal Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah as well as busts representing the armour and gallantry of 4 brave martyrs. Next to Martyr's Commemorative is situated the Bhadrakali Church or the Lumarhi Church , which represents a major "Shakta" churches of the country.
