Microsoft's current line of Operating Systems have a huge market share in the business world. Most organizations today are dependent on some version of Windows and its roster of office-friendly programs. Because of this market dominance, most companies and indeed, consumers rely on qualified Microsoft support specialists to keep their home or business computers running. Microsoft certification courses have therefore become available as a way to train certain IT specialists to properly service computers running on Windows. The core certification has three levels, each signifying more experience than the last. Introduction to MCS Microsoft Certified Solutions are a series of three certifications relating to the IT field, specifically focusing on server administration and software maintenance of Windows operating systems. These certifications usually help a candidate for a particular IT position stand out during the application process because they indicate an advanced knowledge of Microsoft products. There are three levels of this certification, and they each have a recommended course load. MCSA The Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate certification is an entry-level IT certification for those interested in starting a career with Microsoft Products. Focuses include a rudimentary familiarity with Microsoft SQL-based servers and a basic understanding of how Windows OS works, as well as a knowledge of Microsoft Server products. The exams for this certification focus on two key areas for each topic. In the case of Microsoft Server and Windows 7/8, courses should focus on how to install and configure these OSes, and in the case of Server, how to administrate a basic server. Microsoft SQL courses should introduce students to SQL commands, how to create databases, and how to manage information. MCSE MCSE, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert is probably the most common of Microsoft's certifications among IT professionals. The majority of individuals seeking a lasting career with IT in a workplace involving Microsoft products are expected to have obtained this certification. This certification goes far beyond what is expected in the MCSA, and is intended primarily to be a professional certification. In addition to the skills expected of an MCSA-certified person, a MCSE certificate requires a variety of further skills, which should be the focus of an MCSE course. MCSE certification mandates a strong background in the infrastructure of both Microsoft's server and desktop OSes. MCSE certification also focuses on Microsoft's cloud services, including messaging, cloud storage, and business apps. An ability to service those platforms is a must for any IT professional, and it's reflected in MSCE certification. MCSM The Microsoft Certified Solutions Master certification is the product of years of hard work and study, but reflects a true mastery of Microsoft platforms from an IT perspective. MCSM certification usually puts a candidate head-and-shoulders above competition for an IT leadership position in a company that works with Microsoft platforms. MCSM focuses, in addition to the skills required in MCSA and MCSE, on achieving a deep understanding of Microsoft's cloud services. An MCSM certification course must focus on the infrastructure of cloud services, and how to manage cloud storage features on a very in-depth level. These three levels of certification reflect every level of an IT profession with Microsoft products, and that's why they are Microsoft's most important certifications. Certification courses offer the training required to find employment in today's IT job market.
