Isn't a blessing that God treasures and accepts you just as you are? Our God has reconciled Himself totally to us. He is not holding our sins against us! This is the essential message of the good news. Yet many of us hold anger for all sorts of things against our self. Stop being such an enemy to yourself! You can accept yourself despite having these 9 "unacceptable" points. 1) Hurtful Events in Your Past The majority of us have had things happen that we wish we hadn't been alive to experience! Why not consider doing what God does? Our Lord certainly sees the evil that took place, hates it, shares in the pain with us, then lets it move Him to go to work setting things in place that will make it work for good. Stop fighting that it happened, give it to your loving God and allow Him to redeem it! Refreshing inner peace will come flooding back to you. 2) An Unsettling Ignorance Are you embarrassed when ridiculed for not knowing something? In reality we all are hugely uninformed of what could be understood in the visible world , much less the infinite things of God. Let pride take the death blow on this and let go of struggling to "know it all." Envision yourself as a student for all of eternity! Your "life coach" is the most knowledgeable, most gentle Guide in the whole wide world. 3) Your Heritage Your whole family may have been messed up, but it's too late to do a thing about it, right? That just could be where you have missed it! Our all-wise Father decided on our close relatives and our ethnic identity for purely good purposes. There are true blessings in our family line which He wants us to inherit and there are special ways we have been adapted by it for ministering to the people in our world. 4) Weaknesses Generally we loathe our weak spots and enjoy our strong points. Let your frame of reference drastically turn around. It was not your strengths that moved you to the new birth and it won't be your strong points that procure your growth. We learn to draw strength from our Great Friend because of our weaknesses! They are "divine guides" that carry us back to our Lord and train us to cast everything upon Him. 5) Failures None of us prefer to make foolish decisions, but hating ourselves for it is itself a wrong choice! Jesus evidently is reconciled to the fact that we are disposed to mistakes and that we will continually want His assistance. Fortunately for us He loves coming to deliver us. He will never reproach us for false steps, but is constantly willing to help us learn from them and grow wiser! 6) Present Limitations Imagine that Joni Eareckson Tada had resisted living her life and her God due to the horrendous tragedy of her paralysis. She says she simply cannot picture any way she might have witnessed to the millions the Lord used her to bless--had she not been " restricted" within the wheelchair. God may remove the limits that surround us, but we should entrust ourselves to Him with expectant confidence grasping that there is no present limitation He can't work around or work through even as it lingers on. 7) Personality Problems Did you ever have fun with Chinese handcuffs? The more you attempt to be free the more tightly you feel them clasping you. Unwanted ways in our personality are like that. Go out of your way to be patient and you will rapidly learn how impatient you really are! The new life of grace works smoothly for us as we cast all our worries of what needs to change on the Lord and continue to be willing to do whatever He may point out to us. 8) Your Fallen Nature Plenty of believers fear their sinful nature and hate it that they are saddled with one. That's not our God's way! Jesus accepts that it is in us and is in no rush to get it out. That side of us won't come off until we kick the bucket! He is simply asking us not to suit up in it and stroll about in it, but to dress up in Christ and live in His Spirit instead. 9) Your Physical Appearance Where are your eyes focused? On you? That sounds like vanity. How you appear to others? Sounds like a lot of worry and bother. Put your eyes on the Lord. He says that He sees a love He wants to pursue when He looks into you--you have captivated His heart! He wants you forever close to Him. The priceless thing is that whenever we permit Him to capture our heart our demeanor glows with a beauty Christian Dior can't rival! Thanks to what Jesus endured at the cross our Father entirely accepts us just as we are. Don't hold out against the mercy that is granted to you! Decide to accept each and every "unacceptable" aspect about yourself and watch your life in Christ as it begins to blossom.
