Pattaya, a beach resort on the eastern gulf coast of Thailand is found about 150 kms from the Thai capital of Bangkok. The resort was until a while back known for its beaches and scandalous nightlife. Although the beaches and the go-go bars and lager bars remain a magnet, there's much in store for the families and holiday-makers. The 3 kilometers long Pattaya beach is found along the town centre and is the point of interest of all action. It is dotted with hostels, villas, shopping centers and bistros. As the night sets in, the Beach Road along the beach comes alive with music and dance, and folk throng to the area to savour all its unique aspects. Thai boxing, held in some of the open areas of the lager bars also draws its share of visitors. Jomtien beach gives cutthroat competition to Pattaya beach re acceptance. But the beach is much quieter and calm and is a nirvana for the water based sports fans. The beach is family friendly and has an entertainment park and tower to keep the kids contented and entertained. Another beach worth a mention is the Wong Phrachan Beach, found to the north of the Pattaya Beach. It is much tracked down by the swimmers. The beaches are jammed with recliners and umbrellas and are serviced by a bunch of hawkers selling junk food, drinks and other knick knacks and giving them company are those offering massage, manicure / pedicure, and hair platting services. Outside the beaches, there are a few holy places in Pattaya that are worth a visit. In Ban Sukhawadee, the gaff of Doctor. Panya Chotithewan, you can pay your respect to the Bodhisattva Kwan Yin. Buddha Hill, one of the very highest points in Pattaya, is named after the most important Buddha statue found in Pattaya. Close by is the Chinese-style holy area which is devoted to Confucius and Lao-zi. The Refuge of Truth is a big ancient-style wooden church set by the sea at Laem Ratchawet, North Pattaya. The church boasts a few delightful an unique architectural features and it reflects a few non secular and philosophical truths. Chaloemphrakiat Park, found at the foot of Khao Pattaya is spread right across six acres. The gardens overflow with plants and also provide a dramatic view of Pattaya. The park also has 1 or 2 winding trails for walking or jogging. Pattaya is probably one of the most well-liked holidaymaker destinations in The East. Each year, it pulls millions of visitors to its shores. Its vicinity to the Bangkok, the Thai capital, is an extra attraction. The beachfronts are dotted with a variety of resorts, luxury Pattaya villas and budget hostels and so there's an accommodation type to suit all tastes and budgets.
