India as a country is a heaven for animal life lovers. All gigantic creatures ramble its deep and thick forests. India has fifteen Ecosphere Reserves, These are bigger than state parks, eighty number of state parks and 440 animal life sanctuaries covering four Five percent or one, fifty six, seven hundred sq kms of its total area as protected forests. ( These figures are liable to change ). This fact becomes more important in the light of the incontrovertible fact that India supports one two bln folk in a landmass of roughly 32 million sq kms of area. Supporting this huge assortment of living creatues in these conditions is a discernible effort. The attempts to save Indian animal life gained momentum in the Indira Gandhi age who was a great director and had interest in protection of living creatures. Project Tiger-premier Indian effort to save the declining tiger population was started during her regime. Sizeable scale efforts were instituted in that age of 1970s. India has unique ecosystems supporting unique animal life creatures. In the north India, there are habitats like snow-clad Himalayas supporting rare and unique species like-snow leopards snow partridges, chukkor, goats like makhor, ibex, blue sheep, Himalayan wolfs, Himalayan marmots which are restricted to these areas. The nation's parks and animal life sanctuaries in these areas are -Hemis countrywide park, ( Ladakh, JK ) pin valley nationwide park ( HP ), Changthang animal life refuge ( Ladakh, JK ), Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers park ( Uttarakhand ). Lower Himalayas support a different type of flora and fauna like tigers, leopards, wild elephants, Himalayan sloth bear, black bears, spread of dear’s et al. The parks and sanctuaries in this area are-Corbett and Rajaji parks (Uttarakhand), Great Himalayan park ( H.P ), Dachigam park ( JK ) and countless tiny sized sanctuaries. Central India has its unique set of deep thick forests crammed with enormous range of animal life like endangered tigers, leopards, and sorts of deer namely-chinkara, rare swamp deer, wild elephants, wild dog-dhole, black bear, rare wolf, and hyena. The primary parks in this area are Bhandavgarh, Kanha, Pench, Panna state parks. These protected forests support a gigantic assortment of animal life. Western Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujrat has its desert like conditions supporting wholly unique flora and fauna. Nationwide parks like Ranthambore, Sariska Keoladeo Ghana, and Desert Park in Rajasthan support animal life creatures like tigers, elephants, range of deers and are intensely major for tiger conservation in India. Countrywide parks like Gir in Gujrat are the last habitat of imperative Asiatic Lions in India. Beside these parks there are a sizeable number of sanctuaries supporting a spread of species. Eastern India has extremely famous mangrove forests, Sunderbans state park supporting a good population of Great Bengal tigers which are extraordinarily known for their man-eating habits. The sunderbans is a highly pretty forest. South India has completely different eco-system and has huge expanse of unspoiled, virgin rainforests delegated as Western Ghats. These were announced as bio-diversity hotspots and are the habitats of lovely King Cobra and other species of animal life. The key parks in this area are Silent Valley Park, Periyar Park, Eravikulam Park, Nagahole Park and Mudumalai refuge and countless other sanctuaries. The ecological importance of the Western Ghats can be considered from the indisputable fact that each journey in this area is a new discovery with so many species yet to be identified and named. The North-Eastern India has its own unique ecology supporting animal life creatures like one-horned rhinos, wild buffalo, swamp deers, tigers, wild elephants, civet moggies, leopard cats, rare Red pandas and a lot others. The key parks are Manas, Kaziranga, Orang and Khangchendzonga Countrywide Park and others.
