These days skateboarding is gaining massive popularity among the sports lovers. It has originated from surfboarding game which is mostly played for entertainment and recreation. They are slightly different from normal skateboards and are manufactured with a lot longer size. Complete longboards are fully assembled similar to any skateboard of 36 inches or sometimes longer or even shorter than that. They are designed to be a dry-land alike to surfing and ready to ride out of the box. As mentioned above that they look similar to a surfboard with wheels, also available in attractive shapes that range from 33 centimetres to 59 centimetres in length and have width of about 25 centimetres. It consists of various parts that include: Trucks: Trucks of longboard plays an important role. The presence of this unique feature separates itself from other boards. They help to control over its own turning cycle. During the manufacture of this popular longboard, two major trucks are used in it. They are reverse kingpin and the virtual kingpin. Bearings: Like skateboard bearings, most of the longboards also consist the same bearings in it. They connect the wheel to the truck that allows the skateboard in smooth surfing. They are made of different metals like steel or ceramic and are marked with 1-13 odd numbers. Longboards with higher ratings are more durable than the others. Bushings: Bushings of longboards are similar to wheels. They are available in various sizes where the most used shapes for skateboards are cones and barrels. These parts are easily changeable parts of a board. Wheels: Wheels are the most important part of a longboard skateboards because without this part it cannot move a single inch. The wheels of a longboard ranges from 65 to 107 mm in diameter. Made from urethane, the wheels of a longboard are of two types, soft type and hard type. Deck: Decks of a longboard are used for applying grip which is helpful in smooth and safe riding. These are longer as well as wider than a typical skateboard.
